After using a Zürich Card around the city, it can be tempting to think of all the next day’s travel as a continuation of the same arrangement. Before leaving for Davos, identify which ticket or booking covers each part. The city card and the private road transfer are separate products with different purposes.

Read the card’s actual area of validity

Zurich Tourism publishes the Zürich Card’s public transport validity, covering specified Zurich fare zones and certain services. Check the current official information for the version and validity period you hold. Do not extend its benefits to an intercity journey merely because you have used it to travel between Zurich Airport and the city. If you choose rail to Davos, ask the ticket seller to identify the ticket needed for the complete onward route.

Separate reaching the car from the car journey

If you plan to use public transport to reach a station or another agreed collection point, make sure that local ride is covered by a valid ticket at the time of travel. The private car begins at its confirmed road pickup, not at every tram or train stop you use beforehand. Include the effort of moving luggage through that local connection when deciding whether a pickup directly from your accommodation would be more practical.

Compare complete arrangements without double counting

For rail, check current fares and the full route from your starting address to the Davos accommodation. For a car, obtain the vehicle price for the actual party and luggage. Avoid deducting the city card’s purchase price as though it were a discount on the private transfer. Equally, a card that still has usable local benefits may remain valuable for the Zurich part of your day even if you choose a car for the longer journey.

Keep the final departure instruction simple

Once you have chosen the onward mode, give the party one clear plan. If travelling by car, share the agreed collection address, ready time and contact details; keep any local transport ticket available for the preliminary ride if required. Zurich-to-davos.ch is an independent provider, and the road confirmation determines the vehicle service. Carrying the city card does not replace that booking or establish luggage capacity, child-seat availability or a guaranteed place in a particular car.

Questions about this journey

Does a Zürich Card pay for a private Davos transfer?

No. The private transfer is a separate booking and charge.

Does airport-to-city coverage mean Davos is included?

No such inference should be made. Check the card’s published validity and obtain the appropriate onward rail ticket if using rail.

Can I use local public transport to reach the pickup?

Yes, with a valid ticket for that local journey and a meeting plan that allows for the people and luggage involved.
