A travel cot can be one of the bulkiest pieces in a young family’s luggage. Before adding it to the Zurich to Davos booking, make a specific enquiry with the accommodation. A confirmed answer is useful; a general description of a property as family friendly is not enough.

Ask about the exact arrangement

Tell the accommodation which dates you are staying and ask what sleeping equipment it can provide for your booking. Request the relevant details directly, including whether anything must be reserved or brought by you. Do not infer availability from a room photograph or an old review. Keep the reply with your accommodation confirmation so that the person doing the final packing can make a decision using the same information.

Measure what you decide to bring

If you choose your own cot, pack it completely before measuring. Include the carry bag and any separate components you intend to transport. Count bedding that travels outside the main suitcase as another item in the luggage description. The road-transfer enquiry should describe the packed object rather than the cot’s open dimensions. Mention other bulky family equipment at the same time, particularly a buggy or several large rigid cases.

Keep the booking calculation complete

Published categories have separate passenger and luggage limits: Economy lists three passengers and two bags, while E-Class and S-Class list three passengers and three bags. A cot is an additional bulky item to discuss, not something to silently treat as a standard suitcase. Ask the booking team to confirm the proposed vehicle against your actual load. Family seating requirements, including any requested child seats, belong in that same enquiry.

Close the loop before departure

Once the equipment decision is made, update both the packing list and the transfer brief. If the accommodation confirms a cot after you have already declared one, tell the transfer team about the changed load; do not assume it changes the price automatically. If flying, check the airline’s baggage instructions for what you are taking. On arrival in Davos, keep the accommodation’s equipment confirmation accessible alongside the room or apartment details.

Questions about this journey

Can I assume a family room includes a cot?

Ask the accommodation to confirm the equipment for your particular reservation.

How should I describe my own travel cot?

Give its packed dimensions and identify any components or bedding that will travel separately.

Does removing the cot automatically lower the transfer fare?

No. Send the revised luggage details and ask whether the confirmed vehicle or quotation should change.
