A business traveller does not have to use the same transport in both directions. A Zurich–Davos car on arrival and a train back to Zurich can suit a visit with different timing needs at each end, provided both journeys are planned independently.

Define the purpose of the outward car

Choose the private transfer because it fits the actual arrival requirements, such as a specific workplace endpoint or several accompanied cases. Give the Zurich city or airport origin, passenger details and Davos receiving address. Obtain written confirmation of that one-way journey. Do not describe the booking as a return transfer if the traveller intends to use rail later; the service record should show clearly where the car arrangement ends.

Plan the railway journey from its real starting point

Use SBB’s current timetable to research the return from the appropriate Davos station to the actual Zurich destination. Include the movement from the hotel or workplace to the station, with any luggage collection first. A timetable search beginning at the platform does not account for leaving a meeting, reaching the station or finding the train. Purchase the appropriate rail ticket through the relevant provider and check its conditions independently.

Check that the return load is practical

The return may be easier with fewer cases if equipment remains at the workplace, or harder if the traveller acquires materials during the visit. Decide how the luggage will move before committing to the railway plan. If a local car to the station is needed, request it separately and obtain a quotation. The Zurich–Davos one-way fare does not include a later local connection simply because the same passenger uses both services.

Keep a change option honest

If the rail plan becomes unsuitable, a road return can be requested, subject to availability and written confirmation. Do not treat the earlier outward booking as a guaranteed standby car. Direct Davos–Zurich city or Zurich Airport fares are CHF 420 Economy, CHF 550 Business Van or E-Class and CHF 780 S-Class, one way per vehicle. Check current rail service information before leaving and allow suitable airport time if the train journey connects with a flight.
