Borrowing equipment can make a Davos holiday easier to organise, but it can also create an overlooked transport obligation. The person who lends a ski case, travel cot or other bulky item may not be travelling home with you. Settle its return before confirming the car load.

Record possession for each leg

For every borrowed item, note who brings it to Zurich, who uses it in Davos and who will take it away at the end. These may be three different people. Describe the object in its packed form and include any detachable pieces. A named person should be responsible for the complete set, so that a carrier, cover or accessory does not remain behind after the main equipment has been collected.

Avoid an accidental extra stop

If the owner expects the item returned to a Zurich address, decide whether that is part of your road journey or a separate personal arrangement. Give the transfer team the actual requested endpoints and any stop before asking for a quotation. The published Zurich Airport or Zurich city–Davos fare should not be extended to an additional delivery by assumption. A passenger transfer carrying your holiday belongings is also different from requesting an unattended delivery.

Check the final packed load

A friend who flew with a shared ski bag may leave by another route, leaving the remaining party to bring it home. Review the return inventory from the objects that will be present, not from each person’s outward allowance. If flying, check the operating airline’s sports baggage conditions; SWISS publishes its guidance online. Do not rely on the lender’s previous flight experience to establish acceptance for your own booking.

Finish the borrowing agreement clearly

Before the Davos pickup, gather the borrowed item and all its parts in one place. Check it with the person responsible, then add it to the vehicle count. Keep the lender’s handover arrangement separate from the driver’s confirmed job so that neither is surprised on arrival. If the plan changes during the holiday, update the relevant people and the transfer brief while a revised arrangement can still be discussed.
